archiveAmberley wins trophy2nd Feb 2009 It was a perfect end to a big week for Amberley at last night’s Sydney Royal Wine Show, wth the 2007 Amberley Margaret River Shiraz Viognier being awarded The Rudy Komon Memorial Perpetual Trophy. Amberley winemaker Dan Stocker was delighted with the news, saying: "It's been a great week for us! Taking home this trophy is a wonderful way to complete the capital city wine show circuit." "At Amberley, our aim is to showcase the uniqueness of Margaret River, and in only our third release of the Shiraz Viognier, it is great to see it being received so well." "The results have only added to the weekend too, where I had the privilege of seeing more than 1200 jubilant people enjoying our wine, seafood and live music at Amberley." said winemaker Dan Stocker Amberley played host to the fifteenth Semillon & Seafood event, showcasing 12 benchmark Semillon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends from across a variety of Australian regions, specially selected by a panel of winemakers and professionals. Amberley’s Head Chef Cort Meakins prepared a range of delicious seafood dishes for the panel to match with these wines, including more than 2400 dozen oysters, with the help of Guest Chef Clint Hutchinson and highly acclaimed Sydney chefs Huw Jones and William Smirnios |
